Andrea Cerda began their work experience in 2017 as a Fellow at Braven, where they developed skills in operating and managing, effective communications, and problem-solving. Andrea then transitioned to the role of Microbiology Laboratory Technician at SGS North America - Forensic Analytical Laboratories in 2018, gaining experience in industrial microbiology and working in Biosafety Level-2 (BSL-2) rated spaces. Andrea also had direct experience with qPCR using Applied Biosystems QuantStudio Flex 7 PCR System. In 2022, they joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Laboratory Technician, where they received training in high throughput genotyping and performed nucleic acid quantitation and normalization. Andrea is currently working as a Research Associate II at Seer, starting in 2023.
Andrea Cerda attended San Jose State University from 2017 to 2021. During this time, they pursued a Minor in Nutrition Sciences and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Public Health. In June 2018, they also obtained certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Red Cross.
