Tala Pesigan is an accomplished organizer currently working with SEIU Healthcare 1199NW since May 2022. Previous experience includes a role as a Labor Intern at the University of Washington Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies, and as a Research Study Assistant. Tala contributed as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UW Medicine, focusing on reemerging and emerging infectious diseases. Leadership experience at alpha Kappa Delta Phi, International Sorority Inc. includes positions as Vice President of Service and Risk Management and Prevention Chair. Tala interned as a Political Affairs intern at The Borgen Project, successfully mobilizing over 100 individuals to advocate for the Global Health Security Act. Tala gained valuable research experience at Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and Ateneo de Manila University, the latter involving research on HIV/AIDS and healthcare access. Tala holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a focus on Political Economy, complemented by minors in Law, Societies, and Justice, and Global Health from the University of Washington.
