Robert F. has a diverse work experience in the field of labor organizing and representation. Robert started their career as a Canvasser/Data Entry Specialist for ProGeorgia in 2012 and then worked as a Community/Campus Organizer for the United Auto Workers in 2013. Robert later became a Labor Organizer for AFSCME International Union, where they led organizing efforts for Texas Correctional Employees. In 2015, they joined the Texas State Employees Union as a Labor Organizer and Union Representative, responsible for organizing Health and Human Services offices and representing workers in various workplace issues. Robert also served as a City Council Candidate for San Antonio's 1st District in 2017, focusing on neighborhood inclusion, government transparency, and social and economic justice. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Freelance Research Consultant for R Feria Research Consulting, conducting strategic corporate research for unions and progressive campaigns. Robert then joined 32BJ SEIU as a Union Organizer, leading efforts to organize security units and collecting data for state OSHA complaints. Robert later worked for SEIU Local 221 as a Senior Lead Organizer/Representative. Currently, Robert holds the position of Chief Negotiator at SEIU Local 721, where they are responsible for negotiating private and public sector contracts.
Robert F. obtained a Labor Relations Certificate from Cornell University in the year 2021. Prior to that, they studied Philosophy and Psychology at Georgia State University from 2004 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Robert F. earned several certifications including Essential Skills for Organizers 2 and Essential Skills for Organizers 1 from the American Federation of Teachers in 2016 and 2015 respectively. Robert also obtained a Certificate of Achievement from the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute Training in 2013.
