Thorkild B. Hansen

Thorkild B. Hansen has over 30 years of experience developing theories, algorithms, and software in the areas of radar, imaging, acoustics and electromagnetics, field measurements, RFID and wireless communications, CTIA and 3GPP standards, hardware defect predictions, global asset allocation, and quantitative equity strategy development and risk management. He received the R.W.P. King Prize in 1992 and the S.A. Schelkunoff Prize in 1995 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his research and publications on electromagnetic wave propagation. He was part of the team that won the 2004 Technology Innovation Award in Software from the Wall Street Journal and the 2002 NOVA Award from the Construction Innovation Forum for work on ground penetrating imaging radar. He is co-author of Plane-Wave Theory of Time-Domain Fields, a featured book of IEEE Press in 1999. Dr. Hansen has a PhD in Electromagnetics from Technical University of Denmark.
