Katie Koppenhaver

Vice President, HR Services at Select Medical

Katie Koppenhaver has a diverse and extensive work experience in HR management. Katie started their career in 1994 as an HR Specialist/EEO Coordinator at AMP Incorporated, where they were responsible for coordinating affirmative action programs and managing government compliance audits. Katie then joined Giant Food Stores/ Ahold USA in 1997, initially as a Human Resource Manager and later promoted to Senior Manager, Retail Human Resources. In these roles, they provided HR guidance and support to the regional management team and was involved in various HR functions such as recruitment, training, and employee relations.

In 2007, Katie began teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Delaware Valley College, where they taught the Human Resource Management course in the MBA program. Katie also taught a related course at Villanova University as an Adjunct Professor.

In 2015, Katie joined Select Medical as the Vice President of HR Services. In this position, they played a key role in managing HR services for the company, which operates specialty hospitals, outpatient centers, and occupational medicine clinics.

Throughout their career, Katie has demonstrated expertise in strategic HR planning, project management, and leadership roles in acquisitions and mergers. Katie has a strong understanding of EEO laws, job analysis, recruitment, selection, training, and performance management.

Katie Koppenhaver received a Masters degree in Public Administration from Penn State University in 2005. Katie also obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration from Capital College, Pennsylvania State University between 2000 and 2004. Katie has additional certifications including being a Gallup Global Strengths Coach, obtaining a People Manager Certification from SHRM in 2020, a Master Trainer Certification from Talent Plus, Inc. in 2019, and various other HR certifications from organizations like SHRM and the HR Certification Institute.
