Dr. Angelos M. Stergiou, MD,ScD hc

Dr. Angelos M. Stergiou has extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Dr. Angelos M. is the Founder, President & CEO of Sellas Life Sciences, a development-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on cancer immunotherapeutics. Dr. Angelos M. also served as the CEO & Vice Chairman of the Board at SELLAS Life Sciences, where they led the development of novel cancer immunotherapies. Prior to that, they were the President & COO of Genesis Biopharma Group and held executive positions at Accentia Biopharmaceuticals. Dr. Stergiou was also Head of DEDAS and a member of the Joint Steering Committee at PAION AG. In addition to their work in the biopharmaceutical industry, they are a Member of the Board of Trustees at Kentucky Wesleyan College.

Dr. Angelos M. Stergiou, MD, ScD hc has an extensive education history. Dr. Angelos M. obtained their Doctor of Science h.c. degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2016. Prior to that, they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Cardiology and Immunology - Immunotherapeutics from US Medicine from 1998 to 2002.

Before pursuing their medical degrees, Dr. Stergiou completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies, with a focus on Biology and Chemistry, at Kentucky Wesleyan College from 1994 to 1997. Dr. Angelos M. attended Boardman High School in 1992, and prior to that, they completed their secondary education at Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Hagen, Germany, from 1986 to 1992.

Additionally, Dr. Stergiou has obtained a certification in "Data and Health Indicators in Public Health Practice" from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (Coursera Certified) in April 2020.
