Eric Stern

CTO & Co-Founder at Selux Diagnostics

Eric Stern is the CTO and Co-Founder at Selux Diagnostics. Prior to Selux, Stern was the Director of Cell Technologies at 1366 Technologies, Inc from May 2011 to December 2014. There, they were a member of the Senior Management Team responsible for directing 13 engineers, scientists, and technicians. Eric also co-directed research and production for pre- and post-growth Direct Wafer processes. In addition, Stern co-led technical relationships with cell customers.

Before 1366 Technologies, Inc., Stern was a Senior Scientist at Nano-Terra, LLC from April 2009 to May 2011. At Nano-Terra, they led a team of 4 scientists and engineers on a $2MM joint-development project with EMD Merck, Gmbh. to develop a proprietary approach for producing high-resolution screens, which resulted in a new joint venture. Eric also led a team of 3 engineers on a $1.5MM joint-development project with Pentair, Inc. to developing a proprietary UV water purifier for commercial use. Furthermore, Stern co-led a $1.4MM project to develop nanoparticle tracers for advanced oil exploration in partnership with Saudi Aramco, Inc. where they developed a proprietary synthesis to produce particles that survived >3 months in oil wells.

Stern's previous experience includes being a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University / Harvard University from June 2007 to April 2009.

Eric Stern earned their PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Yale University. Eric also holds an MS and BS in Electrical Engineering and Chemistry from Yale University.

A direct report to Eric Stern is and Nathan Purmort - Principal Engineer (Head of Systems). Their manager is Steve Lufkin, CEO. Eric Stern works with Benjamin Spears - Lead Chemist, Kelly Flentie - Director of Microbiology, and Jack Percoskie - CFO.
