Rafael Francis

Rafael Francis possesses a strong background in microbiology and practical experience in laboratory settings. Currently serving as a Microbiologist at Selux Diagnostics, Inc since June 2021, Rafael specializes in culturing non-fastidious bacteria for a novel automated rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing platform and evaluates bacterial specimens from positive blood cultures. Previous experience includes an internship in microbiology where fundamental lab practices were applied, as well as roles in carpentry assisting a licensed general contractor, providing customer service as a textbook clerk, and interpreting historical sites as a summer intern with the National Park Service. Rafael holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Georgia State University, complemented by early work experience in the fast-food industry.
