Rosalind Franklin

Board Member at Sema4

Rosalind Franklin is a board member at Sema4. Prior to this, they were a research assistant professor at New York University School of Medicine in the department of environmental medicine from January 2008 to December 2010. In this role, they oversaw and supported genetics research and was chosen for the role based on their extensive genetic knowledge and prior research experience.

Rosalind enjoyed working with the research team and introducing students to the exciting genetic research environment. Rosalind has always had an interest in medical research and during this time, they gained more knowledge about precision medicine.

The research Rosalind was involved in evaluated the epigenetic effects of environmental factors by isolating RNA and employing quantitative PCR to analyze expression of affected genes. Rosalind also performed studies on candidate genes associated with macrophage clearance of apoptotic cells in individuals with primary biliary cholangitis. Rosalind found this research fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed their time in this role.
