Casey Toews

Casey Toews began their career in 2001 as a University Lecturer at Trinity Western University. In 2003, they moved on to Software Developer at Accordance Bible Software where they worked with a remote team of developers building modules for Accordance. In 2016, they became a Java Application Developer at Software Consulting & Development, where they built a Java desktop CRM application for a health services clinic. In 2018, they took on the role of Software Developer at Tulbox Consulting Inc., where they worked on a React/C#/ASP. NET enterprise web application. In 2019, they became Software Engineer & Team Lead at Care1, where they wrote full stack software for their various web platforms. Most recently, in 2022, they took on the role of Senior Software Engineer at Semantic Health, where they help hospitals and health systems unlock the true value of their unstructured data.

Casey Toews has a varied educational background. Casey attended Trinity Western University from 1996 to 2000, earning a Master's degree in Dead Sea Scrolls. From 2007 to 2013, they pursued PhD studies in Classical, Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology at The University of British Columbia. Casey then attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where they earned an Applied Web Development degree in 2016 and an Applied Software Development degree in 2019.
