John Knutton

John Knutton serves as General Counsel for the Seminole County Clerk and Comptroller since August 2021, where responsibilities include legal research, preparing legal documentation, courtroom representation, and monitoring legislative changes relevant to the Clerk's office. Previously, John held the position of Staff Counsel at GEICO from January 2019 to August 2021, conducting depositions and mediations while defending various claims related to bodily injury and property damage. Prior experience includes roles as an Associate Attorney at Compass Law and Grower, Ketcham, Eide, Telan and Meltz, P.A., handling family law and complex civil matters, respectively. John's early career includes serving as an Assistant State Attorney at Florida's 9th Judicial Circuit, where criminal charges were assessed based on law enforcement reports. Academic credentials include a J.D. from Barry University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English from the University of Toronto - University of Trinity College.
