Christopher Patton, APR has a diverse work experience in communications and public relations. Christopher is currently serving as the Director of Communications for Seminole County Government. Prior to this role, they worked as the Vice President/Director at Global-5 Communications, where they managed the I-4 Ultimate public information services contract and led various initiatives to increase public awareness of the construction project. Christopher also served as the Communications Officer for Lake County Schools, where they were responsible for media relations, content creation, and marketing. Christopher gained experience in public information and event coordination as the Public Information Officer for the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. Before transitioning to the public sector, Christopher worked in the journalism field as a Managing Editor at The Sanford Herald, an Editor at Farragut Press, and a Staff Writer at The Sanford Herald. Through their experiences, Christopher has acquired a strong background in strategic communications, media relations, content development, and event planning.

Christopher Patton, APR holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In addition to their undergraduate education, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. These include being Accredited in Public Relations (APR) from the Universal Accreditation Board, Certified Public Manager (CPM) from the Florida Center for Public Management at Florida State University, Advanced Public Information Officer from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute, and Basic Public Information Officer from the Florida Division of Emergency Management. Their APR certification was obtained in October 2016, while their CPM certification was obtained in June 2007. Christopher acquired the Advanced Public Information Officer certification in March 2007, and the Basic Public Information Officer certification was obtained in 2005.
