Heinrich Smit

Heinrich Smit serves as the Risk Officer and Deputy CISO at Semperis since July 2021, focusing on end-to-end information security risk and compliance in a Zero Trust Software as a Service environment. Smit has also been providing virtual Chief Information Security Officer services at Linked Systems since April 2021, where responsibilities included architecting and implementing a successful Hybrid Cloud model with Zero Trust and Role-Based Access Control. Prior experience includes an Information Security Manager role at Wells Fargo, where Smit led a Cloud, Platforms, and Virtualization Security Engineering group, and a similar managerial position at Bank of America, overseeing security for Enterprise Messaging and collaboration infrastructures. Early career highlights include working at Microsoft, providing advanced server diagnostic support and infrastructure engineering. Smit holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Law, Strategic Management, and Economics from the University of Johannesburg and has furthered education at the Infosec Institute.
