Steven Kopec

Steven Kopec has a diverse work experience within the semiconductor industry. Steven started their career as a Hardware Engineer at Enterasys Networks, where they designed and verified various FPGA and add-on cards. Steven then worked at Cypress Semiconductor as a Sr. Staff Design Engineer, specializing in low power chip integration and 32-bit microprocessor integration. After that, they joined BittWare, Inc. as an FPGA Engineer, before moving to Semtech Corporation - Gennum Products as a Senior Digital Design Engineer and subsequently as a Manager of Digital Design. At Semtech, they provided leadership and functional management for teams delivering on ASIC digital design. Steven continued to progress within Semtech, holding roles such as Director of Product Engineering, Senior Director of Product and Test Engineering, and Vice President of Product and Test Engineering. In their current role, they are responsible for providing senior leadership to the back-end engineering organization within the Signal Integrity Products Business Unit. Throughout their career, Steven has focused on New Product Introduction (NPI), transforming silicon prototypes to manufacturable products, and ensuring the sustained manufacturability of products.

Steven Kopec completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto from 1997 to 2001. Steven later pursued an Executive Management Program with a specialization in Strategic Management at the DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University from an unknown start year to 2019.
