Matthew Gernstein

Matthew Gernstein has extensive experience in legal and compliance roles. Matthew is currently the Senior Director of Legal and Compliance at Seneca Holdings, LLC, where they developed and administered a compliance program that included various components such as export compliance, drafting of a Code of Conduct, risk assessment, and training modules. Prior to this, Matthew served as the Director of Contracts, Legal, and Compliance at Acuity, Inc., where they also developed and administered a compliance program and managed a consulting program for IRS and state regulatory compliance. Before that, they were the Vice President and General Counsel at Nohbo, where they handled drafting and managing financing documents, negotiated agreements with investors and international companies. Matthew also worked as the Corporate Counsel and Contracts Manager at eGlobalTech and Federated IT, where they drafted and negotiated contracts and developed and implemented export compliance programs. Additionally, they served as a Contracts Manager at CACI International Inc and Dell, where they managed contracts and participated in establishing new compliance programs. Earlier in their career, Matthew worked as a Contracts Counsel at MAXIMUS, where they established a program for regulatory compliance and managed arbitration cases. Matthew started their career as a Staff Attorney at Covington & Burling LLP and the Law, Health Policy, and Disability Center of the University of Iowa. In these roles, they worked on various legal projects, including researching, analyzing and drafting reports, negotiating grant opportunities, providing counsel to businesses on federal contracting programs, and negotiating subcontract and teaming agreements.

Matthew Gernstein received their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from William & Mary Law School, where they studied from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and History from Kenyon College, where they studied from 1992 to 1996.
