Pouria Akhbari (DVM, PhD) is a highly experienced scientist specializing in molecular biology and dermatological research. Currently serving as Principal Scientist in Cellular & Imaging Platform Development at SENISCA since August 2021, Pouria previously held the position of Research Fellow at the University of Exeter Medical School and Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Bradford. Pouria's research focuses on Merkel cell carcinoma and the role of Merkel cell polyomavirus in its pathogenesis, as well as investigating the long non-coding RNA PRINS in the context of psoriasis. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science, along with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.).
