Hanspeter Waldner

Senior Vice President, Cancer Immunology at Sensei Bio

Hanspeter Waldner has a long and varied work experience in the field of immunology. Hanspeter began their career in 1995 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Immunology at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Hanspeter then took on a role as a Visiting Scientist in Inflammation and Immunology at Genetics Institute, Inc. (now Pfizer). In 2000, they moved to Harvard Medical School as a Principal Investigator and Instructor in Autoimmunity. From 2008 to 2016, they were an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Following this, they joined Intrexon Corporation as an Associate Director, where they led and managed R&D programs for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases from target selection to preclinical proof of concept studies for IND filing. In 2018, they became the Senior Director of Immunology at CRISPR Therapeutics, and in 2020 they were appointed Vice President and Head of Immunology at BlueRock Therapeutics. Most recently, they have been working as a Biotech/Pharma Consultant for Biotech, Pharma and VC clients, and is currently the Senior Vice President, Cancer Immunology at Sensei Bio.

Hanspeter Waldner obtained a Master of Science in Immunology from ETH Zürich and a Doctor of Philosophy in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Basel.
