Senseonics
Ravichandran Kollarigowda has built a dynamic career focused on polymer synthesis, biomaterials, and materials innovation for medical and dental applications. He is currently a Senior Scientist at Senseonics, Incorporated, where he drives advancements in diabetes management through research and development of materials for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems. Previously, he served as Senior Scientist at the American Dental Association, leading technical project teams in dental polymeric materials, supervising researchers, and managing federally funded research grants.
Earlier, Ravichandran developed his research expertise as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, leading projects on smart polymers, thermosetting resins, stimuli-responsive and self-healing materials, and molecularly imprinted sensors. His foundational industrial experience comes from Syngene International Limited in Bangalore, where he led synthetic polymer chemistry projects, scaling laboratory research to manufacturing and establishing GMP protocols.
Ravichandran holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry (Materials Engineering) from Università degli Studi di Napoli 'Federico II'-Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and an MSc in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Mysore. He is an inventor on US patents related to biocompatible polymers and materials for bone and dental applications.
In addition to his scientific and regulatory achievements, Ravichandran is a NAMSA Certified Biological Safety Specialist, recognized for his expertise in biosafety program management and implementation of rigorous biological safety standards
