Sigbjørn Kolberg has worked in a variety of roles since 2002. In 2002, they began working as a Post-doc Fellow for UNIK - Universitetssenteret på Kjeller, where they worked on modeling multigate nano-scale MOSFETs and fast compact models for FinFETs for circuit simulators. Sigbjørn was also a Research Fellow, authoring and co-authoring 12 papers. In 2008, they began working as a Senior Scientist for Det Norske Veritas, where they were a System Hardware Designer and Embedded Test and Software Developer on ARM/FPGA data acquisition system. Sigbjørn also did Physical simulations of transducers and Finite Element Analysis on acoustics and Low Noise Electronics, Switched Power, High Speed DDR Interfaces, and Low Power ADCs. In 2012, they began working as a Scientist for SINTEF Digital, participating in EU innovation projects and private sector assignments as both a project lead and contributor. Finally, in 2018, they became Head of Hardware Development for sensiBel AS, providing MEMS microphone technology that is capable of registering sound waves far beyond the range that microphones in this price class can do today, also with high fidelity.
Sigbjørn Kolberg obtained their PhD in Physical Electronics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 2003 and 2007. Sigbjørn also earned an MSc in Control Engineering from NTNU between 1997 and 2002. In 2000 and 2001, they completed an MSc in Electronics at UC Santa Barbara.
