Theodor Becker

Theodor Becker has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Theodor is currently working as a Project Leader R&D at Sensirion since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Junior Project Leader R&D at the same company from August 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Sensirion, Theodor worked as a Forscher (Postdoktorand) at ETH Zürich from January 2020 to July 2021. During this time, they were involved in research activities.

Theodor's academic journey started in 2015 when they joined ETH Zurich as a PhD Student. Their research focused on numerical modeling and physical experimentation of acoustic wave propagation, scattering, data-driven time-reversal, and novel wavefield focusing methods. Theodor was also engaged in planning and constructing wave propagation laboratories. The PhD was part of the Marie Curie Initial Training Network WAVES.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Theodor gained industry experience through internships. Theodor worked as a Student Intern at Schlumberger from March 2015 to August 2015 and as an Intern at Wintershall from July 2014 to September 2014.

During their undergraduate studies, Theodor worked as a Student Assistant at GFZ-Potsdam from December 2012 to February 2013, as a Student Assistant at the University of Potsdam from October 2012 to November 2012, and was involved in geological mapping at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from July 2012 to August 2012.

Their earliest work experience dates back to 2010 when they served as a Student Assistant at the University of Potsdam from March 2010 to December 2010. Prior to that, Theodor interned at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin in August 2008.

Theodor Becker's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled at the University of Potsdam. Theodor pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in International Field Geosciences, which they completed in 2013. During their undergraduate studies, they also had the opportunity to study at the University of Montana for a year, where they obtained a second Bachelor of Science degree in International Field Geosciences.

After completing their bachelor's degree, Theodor continued their studies and joined ETH Zürich in 2013. Theodor pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Geophysics as part of the IDEA League program. Alongside ETH Zürich, Theodor also studied at RWTH Aachen University and Delft University of Technology, both leading to a Master of Science degree in Applied Geophysics. Theodor completed their master's degrees in 2015.

Following their master's studies, Theodor continued their education at ETH Zürich for a doctoral degree. Theodor pursued a Doctor of Science (Dr. sc. ETH Zürich) in the field of Geophysik und Seismologie, completing their doctoral degree in June 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Theodor Becker obtained several certifications. Theodor received a Doctoral Degree (Doktor der Wissenschaften) from ETH Zürich in June 2020. Theodor also obtained a Master of Science degree from Technische Universiteit Delft, RWTH Aachen, and ETH Zürich in August 2015. Furthermore, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Universität Potsdam and the University of Montana in July 2013.
