Ylenia Praticò

R&d Engineer at Sensirion

Ylenia Praticò, PhD, has extensive work experience in research and engineering roles. Ylenia is currently working as a Junior R&D Engineer at Sensirion since May 2022. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zürich from February 2021 to January 2022. Ylenia also worked at ETH Zurich, where they served as a Researcher Phd Candidate from July 2014 to December 2020 and as a Research Assistant from July 2013 to June 2014. Additionally, they were a Visiting Research Scholar at Princeton University from July 2016 to December 2016. Ylenia obtained their Master's degree cum laude in Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage from Sapienza University of Rome, where they also worked as an Undergraduate Librarian Assistant from January 2007 to January 2011. Ylenia has also interned at Nationalmuseet and worked as an Undergraduate Student at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. Ylenia'sresearch focuses on topics such as wetting/drying testing, water transport, and degradation behavior on natural and artificial stones, as well as conservation and diagnostics in art.

Ylenia Praticò, PhD, pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Diagnostics from Sapienza Università di Roma. Ylenia completed this degree from 2006 to 2009. Following this, they obtained a Master's degree in Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the same institution, spanning from 2009 to 2012. Later, they pursued their Doctor of Sciences (Dr. Sc. ETH Zurich) in Physical Chemistry of Building Materials and Heritage Preservation from ETH Zürich, completing it from 2014 to 2020.
