John Beaber

Senior Project and Alliance Manager, Research and Development at Senti Biosciences

John Beaber, Ph.D., PMP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of biosciences and protein engineering.

John currently works at Senti Biosciences as a Senior Project and Alliance Manager in Research and Development.

Prior to their current role, they were a Research and Development Project Manager at Santen from April 2021 to May 2022.

John also served as a Protein Engineer at BigHat Biosciences from November 2020 to March 2021, where they developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provided advice on antibody developability.

From August 2019 to August 2020, John was the Associate Director of Protein Engineering at Augmenta Bioworks.

Before that, they held the position of Associate Director of Protein Engineering at Amunix from June 2017 to June 2019. In this role, they managed multiple therapeutic programs and external partnerships, and directed the discovery of new scFvs against cancer targets.

From May 2012 to June 2017, John worked at Intrexon Corporation, where they held various roles including Director of Advanced Platform Research and Associate Director of Advanced Platform Research. John managed scientific activities and led a team in genetically modifying bacterial hosts and constructing viral expression vectors.

Prior to their industry roles, John worked as a Scientist at XOMA from July 2008 to March 2012. John played a key role in building commercial scFv phage display libraries and improving protein display levels.

John Beaber started their career as a Post-doctoral fellow at UC Berkeley from July 2004 to July 2008, where they engineered a bacterial-based anthrax vaccine strain and developed a transposon system.

John completed their graduate studies at Tufts University from May 1999 to May 2004, where they conducted research on conjugative transposons and their regulation.

John Beaber, Ph.D., PMP has an extensive education history. John obtained their Ph.D. in Microbiology/Molecular Biology from Tufts University School of Medicine. John attended Tufts from 1998 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a specialization in Microbiology from Cornell University. John'sundergraduate education took place from 1995 to 1998. John's educational journey began at the University of New Hampshire in 1994, although the specific degree and field of study during that time are unknown.

In addition to their academic achievements, John has also acquired several certifications. John obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2021. Prior to that, they obtained the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from the same institution in October 2020. These certifications indicate their expertise and proficiency in project management.
