Michael Rhee

Michael Rhee has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Michael currently serves as the SVP, Head of Legal Affairs at Senti Biosciences since August 2022. Prior to that, they were the VP, Head of Legal Affairs at Senti Biosciences from September 2021 to August 2022. Michael also worked at Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc. where they held various positions such as VP, Legal from June 2019 to September 2021, Sr. Director of Legal from February 2017 to June 2019, and Director of Legal from February 2016 to February 2017. Before joining Sangamo Therapeutics, they worked at UCSF as a Sr. Industry Contracts Officer from May 2014 to February 2016. Michael also gained legal experience at Bio-Rad Laboratories as an Associate General Counsel from February 2009 to May 2014.

Michael began their legal career as an Associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP from October 2003 to February 2009. Michael also had summer associate positions at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in 2002 and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in 2001. Prior to entering the industry, they worked as a Patent Examiner at USPTO from July 1999 to July 2000.Overall, Michael Rhee has over 20 years of legal experience, with expertise in various areas such as biotechnology, contracts, and intellectual property.

Michael Rhee obtained their Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the University of Virginia School of Law from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering and Biology at the University of Virginia, where they studied from 1994 to 1999.
