Youssef Essaegh

Youssef Essaegh has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Youssef started their career as a Software Developer in the R&D division of ALSTOM Transmission & Distribution, where they designed and developed a real-time decoder module for power installations. Youssef then joined CEGELEC Instrumentation & Controle as a member of a computer integration team, responsible for checking and installing automated electrical instruments in a pharmaceutical production plant.

Youssef later worked at Electricite de France (EDF) - EDEV Energies Nouvelles as an Assistant Accountant in the Strategy division. Youssef designed and developed consolidation software to report the performance of EDF's worldwide wind farms. Youssef faced challenges in building a robust consolidation system compatible with each farm's reporting habits and standards.

At the University of New South Wales, Youssef worked as a Research Fellow, contributing to the development of a communication protocol between e-business platforms. Youssef focused on building intelligent designs to facilitate system integration into the Amazon cloud.

Youssef then transitioned into the finance industry, joining BNP Paribas Group as an Analyst in the Debt Capital Markets division. Youssef gained experience in this role for a brief period before moving on to Barclays Capital. At Barclays, Youssef held two roles. As an Equity Research analyst, they specialized in the European Technology, Payments, and FinTech sectors. Youssef built detailed models, analyzed and forecasted the financial performance of 20 public companies. Additionally, they worked as a Derivatives Sales and IBD DCM, pitching risk management solutions and structuring interest rate derivatives.

Following their time at Barclays, Youssef joined INBOUND CAPITAL as a Senior Analyst, where they contributed their expertise in finance. Youssef then took on the role of Director of Product Management at Sentieo, leading the effort for Financial Data products and other strategic initiatives. Youssef successfully delivered a feature-rich Financial Data roadmap, resulting in significant user growth.

Currently, Youssef is working as a Senior Advisor at AltRaise, a financial advisory boutique. Youssef is part of a team dedicated to sustainable investing, leveraging their expertise and extensive network for entrepreneurs, companies, investors, and organizations in the financial services sector. They provide assistance in capital raising, strategy, and M&A transactions.

Youssef Essaegh has an extensive education history. Youssef obtained a Master's degree in Finance - Financial Techniques in Corporate Finance, Market Finance from ESSEC Business School from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued Fundamental Research in E-Commerce at UNSW from 2005 to 2006. Youssef also completed a Masters degree in Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications at ISEP - école d'ingénieurs du numérique between 2003 and 2005. In 2001, they earned a Bsc in Electronics from Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC). Youssef's educational journey began with their studies at Lycee Lyautey, where they completed their Baccalaureate in General Studies, Mathematics, Physics, and Biology from 1993 to 2000. Additionally, Youssef obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University in August 2016.
