Leanne Samootin has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Leanne began their career as a Classroom Teacher & Computing Coordinator in 1988 and later worked as a Director at NSW CEG. Leanne also served as a Part-Time Lecturer at the University of Western Sydney, where they were responsible for designing and delivering subjects in the Masters of Education program. Leanne then went on to work as a K-10 Computer Skills Assessment Consultant for the NSW Department of Education and Training. In 2002, they joined the NSW Department of Education and Training as a K-12 ICT Consultant and later became a K-12 ICT Curriculum Consultant at the NSW Department of Education and Communities. Leanne spent a significant part of their career at Sentral, where they held various leadership roles such as Senior Education Consultant, General Manager, CEO Operations, and Chief Operations Officer. After retiring from Sentral in 2019, Leanne took a career break and relocated out of Sydney. Leanne officially retired in 2020.
Leanne Samootin holds a Masters of Education in Computing from Western Sydney University. Leanne also completed a Mastery in Deep Facilitation program at Rushall Consulting Group and received training in Peer Coaching from Peer Ed. Leanne'sundergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Home Economics from Sydney Teachers College. Leanne completed their secondary education at Cheltenham Girls High School.
