David (BaeKyun) Kim, PhD

David (BaeKyun) Kim, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. David (BaeKyun) began their career as a Senior Material Engineer at LG Metals in 1990 and worked there until 1997. From 1998 to 2003, they were a Research Assistant at McGill University. In 2003, David joined Samsung Electro-Mechanics, where they held various positions including Analytical Research Group Leader, Group Leader, Principal Material Engineer, and Principal Engineer. David (BaeKyun) then moved on to NSTC of LOA (Lintec of America) in 2013, where they served as a Senior Material Research Scientist. In 2017, David joined LiCAP Technologies as an R&D Engineer & Director, focusing on energy storage and lithium-ion battery projects. David (BaeKyun) then joined Rivian in 2022 as a Lab Manager in Cell Engineering, setting up a lithium-ion battery and material characterization lab. Currently, David is working as a Senior Cell Engineering Manager at Sepion Technologies since 2023. Throughout their career, David has developed expertise in areas such as energy storage, lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitor electrodes, and material characterization.

David (BaeKyun) Kim, PhD has an extensive education history in Materials Science and Engineering. David (BaeKyun) obtained their Bachelor's degree from Korea University from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in the same field at Korea University from 1988 to 1990. David furthered their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from McGill University between 1998 and 2003.
