Scott Greer, MSc, PhD, PMP has an extensive and diverse work experience ranging from research and development to project management. Scott is currently serving as the Vice President of Research and Development at SEPPURE. Prior to this, they held the position of Sr. Director of Operations at Willow Biosciences Inc, where they played a key role in developing a fermentation-based manufacturing platform for cannabinoids production and identifying strategic opportunities for company growth. Scott also served as the Head of Extraction & Innovation at Acreage Pharms, leading the successful implementation and management of a cannabis oil extraction program.

Scott's academic background includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of North Texas and the Alberta Innovates Phytola Centre. During these roles, they managed scientific projects and supervised junior researchers, utilizing their expertise in genetics, molecular biology, and biochemical analyses to develop higher-value microorganisms and plant varieties.

Before their postdoctoral positions, Scott worked as a PhD candidate at the University of Alberta. Their research focused on increasing the abundance and activity of lipo-synthetic enzymes in plants and microorganisms, leading to higher lipid yields. Scott also served as a Research Assistant, assisting Dr. Randall J. Weselake in agricultural, food, and nutritional science research.

Scott's earlier experience includes working as a Millwright Assistant at Casey VanRoon Construction, where they designed and installed agricultural processing systems. Scott also worked at Parrish and Heimbecker Limited as a Grain Terminal Operator, maintaining relationships with farmers, grading wheat shipments, and documenting incoming grain shipments.

Scott Greer, MSc, PhD, PMP, pursued their education in a sequential manner, beginning with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biochemistry (HON) from The University of Lethbridge between 2001 and 2005. Scott then continued their studies at the same institution and completed their Master of Science (M.Sc) in Biology from 2001 to 2006.

Subsequently, Scott enrolled at the University of Alberta, where they undertook their doctoral studies in Plant Science from 2009 to 2015, resulting in the attainment of a Ph.D degree. Alongside their academic pursuits, Scott also obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in July 2021, further enhancing their skill set.
