Yilin Xu

Yilin Xu has worked as a Scientist at SEPPURE since October 2022. Before that, from June 2019 to September 2022, Yilin worked as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University. In this role, they actively participated in membrane-related projects for desalination, zero-liquid discharge, resource recovery, and CO2 capture. They were also responsible for integrating and validating novel membrane processes and systems. Prior to that, from December 2018 to June 2019, Yilin worked as a Graduate Research Associate at Nanyang Technological University. In this role, they conducted research on hybrid membrane processes for the zero-liquid discharge project and assisted with various lab activities such as membrane fabrications, module design and assembly, membrane process operation and optimization, and sample analysis and characterization.

Yilin Xu completed their education in a chronological sequence of degrees and certifications. Yilin began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Protected Agriculture Science & Engineering from China Agricultural University in 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Operations, and Related Sciences from the same university, completing it in 2013.

In 2013, Yilin Xu enrolled in Nanyang Technological University Singapore, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology in 2014. Afterward, they continued their education at the same institution and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology in 2019.

In addition to their academic degrees, Yilin Xu has obtained various certifications throughout their educational journey. These include certifications in LC-OCD, ICP-OES, GPC_Dextran, FESEM, Fume Cupboard, Non-ionizing Radiation: Ultrasound Safety Training, SGSECURE Prepared Citizen Training, Understanding Signage from SS508, ATR-FTIR, Research Communication for Graduate Studies, University Teaching for Teaching Assistants, CPR + Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Training, Fire Safety Awareness Training, Basic Guide For Handling Chemicals, Biological Safety Quiz, Donning A Disposable Respirator, Engineering and Technology Track, Fitting A Half Mask Respirator, Risk Management: Doing Risk Assessment, and Risk Management: Legal Requirement. These certifications were obtained from various institutions including Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute, Agilent Technologies, and Nanyang Technological University.
