Marko Groeger is a Senior Scientist at Septerna, where they focus on innovative solutions in ex vivo systems, cell biology, and drug discovery. Previously, Marko earned their PhD at Universitätsklinikum Jena, researching human gastrointestinal organ-on-chip models to study immune cell roles in human sepsis. During their postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, they led the development of multicellular, iPSC-based microphysiological systems to investigate metabolic diseases and inflammation. Marko’s work is dedicated to translating research into effective therapeutic strategies to improve patient care.
