Dr Shankaracharya

Dr Shankaracharya has had a varied career in bioinformatics, beginning in 2006 when they worked as an Associate Lecturer at the Department of Biotechnology at the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in Ranchi. During this time, they were involved in regular academic and research activities related to bioinformatics, and was involved in the development of various softwares and databases. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where they designed a disease risk prediction modeling tool. From 2017 to 2021, they worked as a Bioinformatician III and Post Doctoral Associate at UMass Chan Medical School, where they worked on various in-house and collaborative projects towards causative gene finding for neurological genetic disorder. Currently, Dr Shankaracharya is a Senior Bioinformatician at PreventionGenetics, and will soon become a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist at SeQure Dx.

Dr Shankaracharya completed their PhD in Technology from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in 2012. Dr also completed an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Awadesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa in 2003. Dr's education history began with a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Ranchi University in 2001. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including AWS Fundamentals: Going Cloud-Native from Coursera in December 2020, Machine Learning with Docker from Coursera in December 2020, and Group 1.Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in March 2021.
