Marvin Garland, GISP, is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in managing GIS projects and programs across various organizations. Currently serving as GIS Project Lead at Serco since June 2012, Marvin oversees the Navy Emergency Response Management System-NERMS project and has successfully led a team that received an ESRI Special Achievement in GIS award. Previous roles include Senior Systems Engineer and GIS Systems Administrator for Commander Navy Region Southeast, where Marvin managed spatial databases and developed data extraction processes, and Project Manager at GeoAnalytics, Inc. for a major GIS initiative with the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Earlier positions include Director of GIS and Marketing Services at CSX, GIS Manager at BellSouth, and GIS Administrator at the Knoxville Metropolitan Planning Commission. Marvin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, Urban Regional Planning, and GIS from East Tennessee State University.
