Rebecca Waitz

Scientist at Serimmune

Rebecca Waitz has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field since 1995. Rebecca began their career as a Product Evaluation Manager at Santa Cruz Biotechnology in 1995. In 1999, they moved on to become a Research Associate at BioTime. From 2001 to 2009, they served as a Ph.D. Student, Research Associate, and Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley in the Laboratory of Dr. James P. Allison at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. From 2009 to 2011, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow in the same laboratory. Finally, from 2011 to 2018, they were an Immunology Consultant at Aspen MediSys, and from 2018 to the present, they have been a Scientist at Serimmune Inc.

Rebecca Waitz obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1997. Rebecca then went on to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Infectious Diseases from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the same university in 2009.
