Julie Sturgeon

Julie Sturgeon has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Julie began their career in 2014 as a Bioinformatics Specialist at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. In 2015, they joined BuildDirect Technologies as an Algorithm Software Developer before taking on a part-time, contract role as a Software Engineer. Julie then served as a Student Ambassador at the University of Waterloo from 2013 to 2015.

In 2017, Julie worked as a Data Science Bootcamp Mentor at Thinkful and as a Data Engineer at O2E Brands. Julie also worked as a Software Engineer at BuildDirect Technologies on a part-time basis.

From 2018 to 2019, Julie worked as an Applied Researcher at PAI Health. In 2019, they became a Technical Consultant at Castofly.

In 2020, Julie joined Semios as a Data Infrastructure Engineer, where they worked until 2021. Currently, they are employed at Serve Robotics as a Software Engineer in Data Infrastructure.

Julie Sturgeon started their education at the University of Calgary in 2010, studying Computer Science. Julie then transferred to the University of Waterloo in 2011 and completed their Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Computational Mathematics in 2015. From 2016 to 2017, Julie pursued a Master's degree in Professional Computer Science at SFU, but it remains incomplete.
