Derek Byrnes

Derek Byrnes is the current General Manager of Technology Strategy and Architecture at Services Australia. Derek has held this position since May of 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the National Manager of Service Operations for the Australian Government Department of Human Services from February of 2016 to May of 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the operation of infrastructure and application infrastructure support for the Department's customer and staff facing systems. This included end user compute and collaboration tools.

Derek Byrnes completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Curtin University. Derek also holds certifications from Scaled Agile, Inc. in SAFe Agilist Certification and from SAP in SAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration (MS SQL DB) with SAP NetWeaver 7.0.

They are on a team with David Lang - Acting General Manager, Cyber Security, Angela Diamond - Chief Financial Officer, and Liz Bundy - General Manager, Digital Programmes. Their manager is Annette Musolino, Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Enabling.
