Marcelo Vidal serves as the Director de Turismo at SERNATUR Región de Valparaíso since December 2018, responsible for implementing the National Tourism Policy at the regional level, focusing on competitiveness, development, product offerings, destination promotion, and social tourism. Previously, Marcelo held roles including Gerente de Operaciones at Hippocampus Resort & Club, where oversight included a 182-room resort, and as Gerente de Operaciones at Hoteles Terrado, achieving top rankings on Booking.com. At Radisson, Marcelo managed operations and commercial aspects of a 66-room hotel, improving sales and guest satisfaction. In addition to practical experience, Marcelo contributed academically as a university professor in Hotel and Gastronomy Administration. Marcelo's background also includes significant roles in human resources and quality management within the hospitality sector, complemented by an MBA in Tourism and Travel Services Management from IE Business School and a degree in Civil Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Santiago de Chile.
