Karl Loo

Karl Loo is an experienced professional who has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Karl is the CEO and Founder of ServisHero, where they are focused on disrupting the local services industry in South East Asia through online and mobile technology. Karl has also worked as the VP of Strategy & Operations at Memebox Corporation, a leading online Korean cosmetic retailer, and as a Founding Partner at Africa Internet Accelerator, where they co-founded and managed successful websites in Sub-saharan Africa. Additionally, Karl co-founded MyLuxBox, the first beauty subscription service in China, and worked as a Regional Director at Groupon, overseeing operations in China. Karl began their career as a Solicitor at Simpson Grierson, where they provided legal advice to technology companies, and later worked at Vodafone New Zealand.

Karl Loo's education history starts with their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Information Systems, which they pursued from 2001 to 2005 at The University of Auckland. During the same period, they also completed their LLB degree, specializing in Company Law, Information Technology Law, Intellectual Property, and Family Law.

In 2009 and 2010, Karl attended Fudan University where they studied Mandarin Chinese as part of a language program.

Moving forward, Karl pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of Oxford between 2013 and 2014. During this time, they also participated in the Harvard Business School Naspers Executive Program, focusing on General & E-commerce Management.

In April 2016, they completed a course on Big Data and Analytics from Harvard Business School Executive Education. Additionally, in April 2020, they obtained a certification in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) from the World Health Organization.
