August Wang

August Wang has a diverse work experience in the energy trading industry. August started their career at ENMAX as a Summer Analyst in 2013. In 2014, they worked as a Summer Analyst for Brookfield Renewable, focusing on renewable commodities. Subsequently, they joined CWP Energy in 2017, where they served as a Power Scheduler for the Northeast region. In 2019, August transitioned to the role of Real-Time Trader for the Northeast region at CWP Energy. Later in 2019, they joined SESCO Enterprises as an Energy Trader and eventually moved up to the position of Head Trader for the East Desk in 2022.

August Wang completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on Finance and Economics at McGill University from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, they also participated in an exchange semester at BI Norwegian Business School. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Finance at the University of Rochester - Simon Business School from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, in June 2017, they obtained the CFA Level II certification from the CFA Institute. Prior to their university education, August attended John G. Diefenbaker High School from 2008 to 2011.
