Irakli Samkharadze

Irakli Samkharadze is an accomplished energy advisor at OMNIA - The Plural of Energy since September 2022 and holds academic positions as an Associate Professor at Georgian National University SEU, a Visiting Lecturer at both Ilia State University and Tbilisi State University, and a Research Fellow at Sustainability College Bruges. With extensive experience at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH from October 2014 to August 2022, Irakli served as Regional Network Coordinator and National Key Advisor for various climate change initiatives. Prior roles include leadership positions at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. Educational qualifications consist of advanced degrees in law and climate change from prestigious institutions including Freie Universität Berlin, KU Leuven, and Tbilisi State University, among others, culminating in a Postdoctoral Researcher role focusing on the European Green Deal.
