Steven Smith

EVP, Operations at Sevatec

Steven Smith is the Executive Vice President of Operations at Sevatec. Steven has over 25 years of experience in the field of information technology and has held various leadership positions in both the public and private sector.

Smith began their career as a systems engineer and later transitioned into management. Steven served as the Deputy Chief Information Officer and Director of the Information Technology Division for the Federal Highway Administration from 2011 to 2014. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and operation of all IT systems for the agency.

From 2014 to 2015, Smith served as the Deputy Chief Information Officer for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In this role, they were responsible for leading the agency's IT division and overseeing a budget of $700 million.

In 2015, Smith joined FirstNet as the West Area Director for Regions VI-X. FirstNet is a nationwide public safety broadband network that provides first responders with high-speed data and voice communications. Smith led a team of Supervisory Emergency Management Specialists responsible for executing outreach, state consultation, and state plan activities for the program.

In 2018, Smith left FirstNet to join Integrity One Executive Consulting Group, LLC as a partner. Integrity One is a management consulting firm that specializes in providing advice to government agencies on IT strategy, organizational transformation, and program management.
