Craig Blakely is the current Director at Seven Counties. Prior to this, they served as Northeast Asia Division Chief, leading a seven-man team responsible for developing strategic policy for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs on issues involving China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Taiwan and Mongolia. Craig has also served as Assistant to Director for submarine warfare in the U.S. Navy.
Craig is an expert in political-military relations and has extensive experience in coordinating Joint Staff participation in interagency task groups developing international policy options for the National Security Staff. Craig is also well-versed in negotiating and managing complex national security issues. During their time as Northeast Asia Division Chief, Craig was instrumental in coordinating multiple Chairman of the Joint Chiefs level bilateral meetings with South Korea and Japan, which resulted in concrete advancements in our alliances in Asia.
Under Craig’s leadership, Seven Counties is making great strides in developing strategic policy initiatives that will have a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
Craig Blakely has a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from University of California, Davis.
