Jonathan Young

Jonathan Young has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jonathan worked as an Engineering Lead at SEVENROOMS in 2023. Prior to that, they were an Engineering Team Lead at Venmo where they led a team of 8 backend engineers and developed features for the Venmo Teen Card. Jonathan also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Venmo, where they developed features for the Venmo Credit Card and contributed to significant cost savings for the business.

Before Venmo, Jonathan was the Director of Education at Code Platoon, where they taught students, managed a team of instructional staff, and created new programs. Jonathan also served as a Lead Instructor at Code Platoon. At DRW, they worked as a Software Engineer automating manual processes for the Facilities team. Jonathan also worked as a Software Engineer at OneMain Financial and Groupon, and as a part-time Web Development Instructor at General Assembly.

Prior to their career in tech, Jonathan worked as a Corps Member for Teach For America, where they taught mathematics to high school students in a low-income school. Overall, Jonathan has a strong technical background and extensive experience leading teams, developing features, and teaching in various educational settings.

Jonathan Young has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University, and a Pre College Diploma from The Juilliard School. Jonathan also holds additional certifications, including an Accredited Educator certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS), a Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services, and a SAFe 4 Certified Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
