Chief Artistic Producer at Park Avenue Armory

Michael Lonergan is the current Chief Artistic Producer at Park Avenue Armory. Michael has previous experience working as a Senior Producer at The Park Avenue Armory, Director of Artistic Administration at Florida Grand Opera, and Artistic Planning Administrator at New York City Opera.

Lonergan has been in their current position at Park Avenue Armory since July 2009. In this role, they oversee and manages the production and programming departments, creates and implements programming budgets, negotiates and contracts with artists and staff, and works with the Armory's Artistic Director and President on programming logistics. Michael also supervises and approves all logistics for the Armory's five multi-disciplinary productions each season, as well as the Artist-in-Residence Program. In addition, Lonergan creates and contributes to marketing, press and printed media related to programming and resident artist programs.

Some of Lonergan's major accomplishments include leading the staff in producing its first full programmed season and creating contract templates used for individual artists, ensembles, co-producing and visual arts. Michael has also successfully managed a $2.6 million dollar department budget without any overruns.

Michael Lonergan's educational career includes a B.S. in Theater from Minnesota State University, Mankato, an MFA in Theatre:Directing from Purdue University, and a Field in Development from New York University.
