Emily Mccarthy

Emily R. McCarthy is a highly experienced structural engineer with a focus on seismic performance and retrofitting of structures. Currently serving as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Consulting Engineer at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger since November 2015, Emily manages structural analysis, design, and inspections for refinery structures, ensuring compliance with seismic safety regulations. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Staff Engineer at MMI Engineering, where work involved enhancing knowledge in oil and gas industry practices. Emily completed a PhD in Structural Engineering/Earthquake Engineering at Rice University, where research concentrated on improving the seismic response of bridge structures using innovative materials.
