Bert-Jan Ruissen

Bert-Jan Ruissen serves as a Member of the European Parliament for SGP since July 2019. Prior to this role, Bert-Jan held positions including Secretary for the SGP Bestuurdersvereniging from November 2016 to June 2019 and Chairman of the SGP-fractie in Krimpen aan den IJssel from March 2006 to June 2019, having been a council member since 2006. Bert-Jan's experience also includes a long tenure at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, serving as a Coordinating Policy Officer and Speechwriter until June 2019. Additionally, Bert-Jan was a candidate for the Tweede Kamer elections in 2016 and held various leadership roles in agricultural and student organizations. Bert-Jan obtained an ir degree in Agricultural Plant Breeding from Wageningen University & Research between 1990 and 1995.
