Derick Govender

Derick Govender is an experienced leader in the testing, inspection, and certification industry with a career spanning over two decades at SGS, where roles include Head of North America, Executive Vice President for Natural Resources, and Executive Vice President for Minerals Services. Responsible for managing the global minerals business and overseeing operations in Africa, Derick has led initiatives to equip teams with necessary resources and skills to execute SGS's global strategy. Prior to SGS, Derick served as Business/Operations Manager and Chief Chemist at Mintek, specializing in precious metal analysis. Educational qualifications include a Management degree in Business Management and International Marketing from Mancosa, alongside earlier studies at Technikon Witwatersrand and Tongaat Secondary School.
