Saeid Amini Nik

Saeid Amini Nik has a diverse work experience in various research and educational institutions. Saeid is currently working as a Principal Investigator at SGS since March 2020. Prior to that, they served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Toronto and held the position of Assistant Professor from July 2014 to 2019. At the University of Toronto, they led a team of scientists focusing on skin diseases, skin stem cells, skin regeneration, and fibrotic responses to injury. Before joining the University of Toronto, Saeid worked as a Scientist and Associate Research Scientist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre from January 2013 to November 2018. Saeid also worked as a Scientist at the Ross Tilley Burn Centre from January 2013 to July 2018, where they collaborated with surgeons and health professionals to direct skin research for burn patients. Saeid began their career at The Hospital for Sick Children as a Postdoc Fellow from 2007 to 2012. Saeid also served as a Fellow at the University of Toronto during the same period. Saeid completed their PHD in Cancer Genetics and Molecular Biology at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven from 2003 to 2007 and previously worked as a Master Student from 2001 to 2003. Saeid started their professional journey at Bushehr University of Medical Sciences as a member of the Educational Development Center from 1997 to 2001.

Saeid Amini Nik holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Skin Stem Cell from the University of Toronto, which they earned from 2006 to 2009. Saeid also has a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Cardiology and Hypertension from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. Apart from their educational background, Saeid has obtained several certifications, including Good Documentation Practices, Investigator (HSR), Investigators (IPS), Investigators (RCR), Conflicts of Interest for Investigators, and GCP for All Staff.
