Matthew Fickel

Matthew Fickel is currently an Analytics at ShadowPoint.GG. Prior to that, they were a Data Analyst at NewDay USA from August 2020 to April 2021. Before that, they were a Finance and Strategy Summer Analyst at Optima Health from June 2019 to August 2019, where they collaborated with the CIO to write VBA code for an interactive spreadsheet designed to track all invoices totaling $4m+, built multiple scenario models for the finance team to calculate investment feasibility of up to $5m, and assembled board presentations for senior management on process innovation and strategy improvement. Matthew was also a Research Assistant at McIntire School of Commerce from September 2018 to May 2020, where they developed a web scraping program in R designed to find company names and ticker symbols, built a program that matched data together and compiled a spreadsheet with over 10,000 rows, designed and launched multiple Qualtrics surveys linked to Mechanical Turk tasks, and used optical character recognition software to digitize large amounts of documents to be encoded.

Matthew Fickel has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce in Information Technology and Business Analytics, as well as a Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia. Matthew also has an Associate's degree in Business Administration and Management from Tidewater Community College. Matthew is certified as a Mortgage Loan Originator from the NMLS.
