Bonnie Gordon has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Bonnie started their career as a Producer/Journalist/Translator at DW-TV from June 1994 to April 2009. Bonnie then worked as a Foreign Correspondent at The Hollywood Reporter from June 1999 to May 2009. Bonnie transitioned into the education field, starting at Shaker Heights High School in September 2013 as an Academic Lab Support Teacher until June 2016. Bonnie also worked as a Long-Term Substitute English Teacher at Laurel School from January 2013 to June 2013. Bonnie joined the Shaker Heights City School District as an English and German Teacher in August 2013 and became an In-School Support Coordinator in September 2016 until February 2020. Bonnie Gordon obtained their Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Bennington College between 1980 and 1983. Bonnie pursued further education at the University of Iowa, where they earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from 1985 to 1987. Continuing their education, Bonnie pursued a degree at the American College of Education, obtaining an M. Ed. in English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education; however, the specific duration of this program is not provided.
