Michelle Smithgall

Michelle Smithgall has extensive experience in finance and accounting, with roles in various companies spanning over 25 years. Michelle currently holds the position of Controller/CFO at Shalom Baranes Associates since June 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Finance at Lessard Design/Metropolitan Development Group from May 2016 to August 2018. In their role, they were responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, tax compliance, and supervision of human resources and accounting staff. Before that, Michelle served as the Senior Vice President at NCFinteriors/Lakota Contracting, where they implemented procedures to improve internal controls and reporting efficiency. Michelle also managed banking, bonding, and insurance relationships and developed project budgets. From September 2011 to July 2014, Michelle worked as a Controller at Metropolitan Development Group, responsible for maintaining financial integrity and streamlining financial reporting for partnership and corporate entities. Prior to that, they served as the HR/Accounting Manager at Clearsoft Inc., overseeing accounting functions and payroll for an $8M company. Michelle has also held roles as Controller at Greenbriar Homes Communities and Accounting Manager at Sterling Homes.

Michelle Smithgall attended Towson University from 1987 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Finance.
