Tongsheng Zhang is a Full Professor at 上海大学 since January 2023, with a research focus on steel process optimization, advanced alloy and steel design, green intelligent metallurgy, and resource utilization. Prior to this role, Zhang served as a Research Scientist at the University of Warwick - WMG from March 2021 to December 2022 and as an Associate Professor at Central South University from September 2017 to September 2021, concentrating on special steel impurity control and mathematical simulations in metallurgy. Zhang's experience also includes a Research Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University (October 2015 - September 2017) and an engineering position at ANGANG STEEL COMPANY LIMITED (August 2008 - July 2009). Academic credentials include a PhD and an MS in Material Science and Engineering, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Northeastern University (CN).
